My friend Emily (one of the girls that goes to Naz with me), and I decided to plan a trip for our Easter Holiday. We both decided to start our trip off in Italy, because we both really wanted to go there. The first leg of our trip was Venice! We ate pasta and pizza for every meal, took a highly overpriced Gondola ride, and took entirely to many pictures (this is true throughout the trip), so I apologize in advance for the collage that I'm sure this post is going to turn into!
The next stop was Romaaaa! It was awesome! We did all the touristy stops, the Sistine Chapel, the Trevi Fountain, Vatican Square and the Colosseum! Everything was bigger and more amazing then I could have dreamed it would be. A couple major hiccups in Rome: Emily got her wallet stolen on the subway .. Yikes!! And we missed our flight out of Rome and had to spend the whole day in the Rome airport!! Here are some pictures from the good part of our trip:
The next, and my personal favorite part of the trip, Greece! So much more beautiful than I could have imagined. We started off in Athens which was really cool, we got to see the Acropolis and the Temple of Olympian Zeus! Athens is where our mini cruise left from.
Our cruise started in Athens and our first stop was Mykonos! It was really beautiful, all big cliffs and bright blue coast line. The next stop was was Kusadasi, Turkey. We toured the ancient city of Ephesus which was amazing! The next stop was Patmos, then Crete, then, my favorite stop, Santorini. Santorini, legend has it, was the island that some people think was the lost island of Atlantis. It was truly one of the most beautiful place I have ever seen!
The trip was amazing, I felt so lucky the whole time to be blessed with the opportunity to do something like this. Studying abroad really has given me so many opportunities to do so much traveling that I could never afford otherwise (not to imply that I can afford it now.. ) Until the next time!
