On Saturday morning we spent the first part shopping at the market, although this was fun and very costly for my wallet, it was the rest of the day that I really enjoyed. After lunch, Mrs. Glazer took us to the one of the Hungarian museums in Hero square where I spent several hours in pure ecsaty, surveying the old master painters. I was able to see one of my favoirte artists in the entire art world, Artemisia Gentileschi, and her work of the Slaying of Holfarnes. I was so moved by seeing this painting that I sat down for several minutes absorbing the details and the emotions that occured. I was also very pleased to see several Manet landscapes and one of the orginal Degas landscapes. Even though our time was there was brief, I truly feel that I could spend several days there, going from room to room, uncovering secrets and appreciating the world that I come from and now live in.
After our trip to the museum we went to one of the world's most famous coffee shops where we were lucky to sample several treats. The cafe is so famous it has attracted several famous individuals such as Princess Diane, Queen Elizabeth, and Brad Pitt. The cafe was decorated in the tratditional Baroque style and every detail down to the bathroom handles was done in exquisite detail. It was a day that will live on in my memory, and a day that I hope I will be able to experience again, although I doubt it.
