We are sitting in the airport in Detroit waiting for our flight to board in about one hour. I am so surprised at how fast our time went in Hungary. It's so amazing how only nine days ago our different groups of students didn't know each other whatsoever. Now, sitting in the airport, we are all laughing and talking to each other.
Our last day in Budapest was one of the best. First thing in the morning we went to the large public market where, according to my host, is the most Hungarian experience of them all. Walking in to this place was literally breath taking.
I loved seeing all of the Hungarian crafts and foods that they make. I LOVED the jars of vegetables that had faces on them! These were all over! We had such an amazing time searching through the stands for the perfect presents for our friends and family back home. This was such an amazing experience.
Us Art Education majors got the chance to go to "Gerbeaud" one of the most famous desert places in Europe. Celebrities like Princess Diana, Madonna and Brad Pitt have eaten in this shop. The deserts were absolutely amazing. That is one thing that I hands down LOVED in Hungary: The desserts.
My Sundae was huge! It was Esterhazy torte cake with vanilla and walnut ice cream.
I never expected to have such an amazing experience in Hungary and meet such amazing people. This is an experience that I will truly never forget. I loved Hungary and I hope one day that I can return to perhaps experience even more of the amazing Hungarian culture.
