We arrived back in Budapest last night after 4 days in Veszprem for the America Week conference. It was a truly amazing experience! The home stays allowed us to immerse ourselves into the Hungarian culture and provided a unique opportunity for us. We were able to make life long friends with the hosts and really missed them once the bus pulled away.
After we left Veszprem we traveled by bus to Pecs. The weather was snowy and windy which is similar to Rochester. The snow made it difficult to see so we decided to go to more indoor things. We went to the Roman ruins and saw a 4th century burial ground. Being able to see something so old was an experience to remember. We also went to a gallery and a cathedral. While driving we saw the original wall for the town. It looked like a fortress and had watch towers. After looking around we got out of the snow and wind and went for coffee and dessert. Zsofia laughed when most of us ordered gelato even though it was snowing outside! We also ordered cakes and coffee. All were very delicious!!! We have a long day ahead of us and I am looking forward to see the city of Budapest!
