First day and we are heading out via van to Riverton Meadows!!
Riverton is one of the poorest neighborhoods in Kingston, considered home to anywhere from 2,500 to 4,600 men, women and children. Located on the Kingston City garbage dump, the single room huts are often built from tin sheets held together by wire; most homes do not have running water or electricty and are not able stand through the hurricane season.
The Nazareth Service-Learning group divided into two groups of six to paint both the inside and outside of two homes in the course of two consecutive days at Riverton Meadows.
