The Art Department is working together to raise funds for the relief efforts in NYC and in the surrounding communities hit hardest by Hurricane Sandy. We are organizing a sale of arts and crafts and would like for art students, art faculty, and members of the Nazareth community to donate artwork (designed and handmade by the artist) for a sale. All proceeds will go to the NYC Mayor's Fund, which is specifically for supporting humanitarian efforts related to the storm.
LOGISTICS and IMPORTANT DATES:
Optional: Send a digital image (jpeg) of each piece you are donating to <firstname.lastname@example.org>. These images will be put on the Art Department Facebook page for preview. Images are due by Wednesday, Nov. 28th.
Bring the actual work to Nathalie Pearson in the Art Office, A160. She will ask for the info sheet (see the attachment to this email) and will open the Colacino Gallery, where we'll be storing the work. Pieces are due by Monday, Dec. 3rd. Works do not have to be matted or framed. There must be a sale price on the info sheet.
The sale will take place on Tuesday, Dec. 4th, noon to 2:30pm, location to be announced (tentatively in the hall near Sorelle’s in GAC). Unsold pieces may be picked up in the Colacino Gallery during Nathalie’s office hours Dec. 5th and 6th.
Please consider donating a piece!
To buy work, bring cash or checks only (made out to Nazareth College Art Department). Please advertise by word of mouth. The public is welcome. Stay tuned for more info…--
