Working with British High School students
Today was out first day at Leeds Met’s “Tomorrow's Professionals Today “ residential summer school program. A program designed to increase the presence of underserved student populations at the university. We began the day bright and early meeting with students for breakfast and conducting student check in at 7:00am. We met with the British students who asked us all about America. We can already see a difference in the organizational styles of American and British university systems and have come to appreciate the Naz way!
Leeds Metropolitan University is very large and we spent time at both the Headingly and the City Centre campuses while attending workshops with the students in the program. Dinner was BBQ and in the evening we separated into groups for some social activities including Bollywood dancing, cycling, team building, and street dancing, then at nine we were able to watch the first half of the World Cup game, Argentina v Netherlands and chat with some of the other ambassadors.
