In a previous blog I stated that Inlet Dance Theatre would create an interactive dance performance for Dance Walk on ARTWalk. Inlet's artistic director sent me an update with more information specifically defining an Inlet interactive performance.
- Stationary Line Improvisation - Inlet dancers will teach the audience a movement game similar to playing "telephone" where a gesture is passed along a line of people to the end and another gesture is created and bounces back through the line to the start.
- Traveling Line Improvisation - Inlet dancers will guide the audience in a serpentine "follow the leader" exercise, which employs two different and simple mechanisms for exchanging line leadership. This dance exercise will be performed by one and all as they travel down University between dance performance* sites on ARTWalk.
- News -Inlet dancers will lead audience participants in a large improvised movement experience that seamlessly changes leadership four times - facing North, East, West and South.
Dance Walk on ARTWalk is the opening performance/ceremony of the Nazareth College Arts Center Dance Festival. Dance Walk on ARTWalk is going to be a fabulous event for all ages and physical abilities! An inclusive celebration of the beauty of movement and movement invention that engages the entire community.
