How well I remember that TV commercial from many years ago. Today that slogan has new meaning, particularly as it relates to the use of social networking. Nazareth College began using social networking on its admitted student website in 2009 and we were amazed at the results. On Monday February 1, 2010 the college launched year two of social networking at, coincidently, 10 pm. 8:30 am the following morning, 31 students had already logged in to the site and began communicating with their future classmates. By 10:15 Monday night our first student logged in from an island in the Pacific Ocean! Topics ranged from financing a Nazareth education, to sports played, music listened to, and potential roommate selections. I'm sold on this as a highly effective means for students to navigate through the admissions maze, with a little help from their friends.
