Yesterday was my "last day" at Rochester Woman Magazine as a writing intern. I put "last day" in quotes because the crazy thing that I never thought would happen actually happened: they asked me to be a contributing writer! Currently a voluntary position, my supervisor hinted at the possibility of a paid position after graduation, if they have anything available. The networking opportunities (and continued opportunity to be published!) provided by this magazine alone are enough payment - I've met so many amazing women through my experiences at RWM and I'm very honored they have asked me to continue writing for them.
I've learned quite a bit about myself this semester, both in and out of my internship. As far as next year, I can't say that I've figured out exactly what I want to do, but I'm closer than I was in September! As I finish up my last semester at Nazareth, I hope that my continued work with Rochester Woman will help me further narrow down my options and find a position or career trajectory that will fulfill me in the way this internship has!
