Please stop by the Library and the College Archives today to help celebrate Nazareth's 90th birthday! Can't make it? Please check out the photo album of the display created by Reference Librarian and College Archivist, Deborah Janetos, on the Library's Facebook page. No log in is required:
New Electronic Resources have been added: PsycTests and Films on Demand. (Locate these titles in the alphabetical list of Electronic Resources.)
About the Library building:
Media B has been expanded and renovated, so if you have a class scheduled there, you'll find it much more roomy!
Thanks to the generosity of an anonymous alumni donor, we are getting new furniture for the Browsing Lounge. Look forward to getting more comfortable!
We invite everyone to explore the variety of spaces for studying in the library - group collaborative spaces (found on all three floors), quiet spaces (the study carrels near the windows), and deep quiet spaces (the journal stacks on the Lower Level). Please ask a library staff member to suggest a workspace that will meet your needs.
Where to ask for help?
Ask a Librarian provides some ready-made responses to frequently asked questions. Live help is available during scheduled hours in-person at the Information Desk, by phone, by e-mail, by chat, by text, and by Twitter. Web forms are also available if you wish to request research support from one of our professional librarians.
User Support for IT is in the library, as is the Tutoring Area. Both are located on the Lower Level. While you're downstairs, relax for a few minutes with the library jigsaw puzzle, located next to the Interlibrary Loan office.
Now's the perfect time to get to know us. Our pictures are on the library wall in the Browsing Lounge. Come and see who we are, what we do, and how to contact us. During orientation weekend, library staff and student workers will be meeting and greeting, so please stop in!
Don't have time this weekend? No worries. Keep up with us on Facebook. Find out when Barkley, the pet therapy dog is coming, and more!
Just launched today - a new "Libguide" for recreational reading.
The guide includes information about our popular reading collections, including the McNaughtons and our YA books. The guide also links to all sorts of sites about books - blogs, recommendation and news sites, reviews and lists of awards. We've included some links for Nazareth YA fans. And, finally, if a library book on display looks like a must-read, you're in luck - the new guide provides a list, with links back to the library catalog.
Click on the link below to have a look at the new guide. Happy Reading!
Meet the newest addition to the circulation staff team, Paul Whiting! Paul is the weekend evening circulation supervisor and like the rest of the team, he helps patrons find library items and answers a wide array of questions.
Paul was born and grew up in Greece, the suburb of Rochester. He went to high school at Greece Olympia and got a bachelor’s degree in history from SUNY Brockport. He is currently enrolled at the University of Buffalo’s Library and Information Science program. Among his many interests are reading, watching TV and movies, being outdoors in the summer, and going to the beach. He loves to golf and also enjoys sports, and is a huge supporter of FC Barcelona. This summer he will be studying abroad in England as part of his library school studies!
