Instructional Technology Specialist Paul Monachino recently participated in Honor Flight #27 with his father, Paul Monachino, Sr. Paul Monachino, Sr. is an 89-year-old World War II Army Air Corp veteran.
Honor Flight #27 allowed approximately 45 veterans in their eighties and nineties and their guardians to travel to Washington, DC, to visit the World War II Memorial and other monuments. This Rochester-based program is funded entirely by donations. An Honor Flight Benefit Concert will be held in the Callahan Theater this Saturday, April 27th, at 7pm. Tickets are $12 in advance (or $15 at the door) and can be purchased at the Arts Center Box Office.
Paul characterizes this experience as "truly life altering". We have linked his Honor Flight photo album to this post. It is Paul's hope that, "it might encourage some of you who have loved ones or acquaintances who are among the rapidly dwindling number of WWII veterans to make the call to sign them up for the honor they deserve and never experienced when they returned home."
