Diane Riley, Head of Cataloging & College Archivist at the Lorette Wilmot Library was a panel speaker at the Mid-Atlantic Regional Archives Conference held in Philadelphia on November 7-9, 2013. Joining colleagues from Temple University, Millersville University, Brooklyn Historical Society and the Society of the Cincinnati, Diane spoke on "Primary Source Instruction in Higher Education".
To capture students' interest in archives and special collections takes innovation and creativity. As the speakers in this session demonstrated, this creativity can take all different forms - from the web to in-depth class exercises. They also discussed the challenges and rewards of incorporating primary source instruction into the curriculum.
